Due to the responses I have had about my article 'Visiting Parallel Universes in our Dreams' I have decided to continue with this follow up Article. I am a writing this not as a Scientist but more from the viewpoint of Philosophy. Having said that I would like to include some helpful links to related articles that have been written about Scientific Research by real Scientists and Physicists. Science should be fun and the articles below certainly are interesting and give food for thought.
Matter and The Speed Of Light:
Firstly I will address the issue of traveling faster than the speed of light which is a topic of hot debate at the moment. Firstly the issue of building a Warp Drive Engine capable of Traveling Faster than the speed of light based on a proposal by Michael Alcubierre is currently receiving more and more attention by some serious Physicists. Read about it here.
The practical theory is becoming more of a reality, although we are along way from producing the technology.
The idea of Wormholes in space was first named by the American physicist John Archibald Wheeler in 1957 however the German mathematician Hermann Weyl had already theorized the idea of wormholes in 1921 whilst working on mass and electromagnetic field energy. A Wormhole is a theoretical place which assumes Space and Time are folded. A Wormhole is effectively a 'Shortcut' between the folds. This theory allows you to travel vast distances through Space and Time. So much has been written about this and it has been a favorite topic for Science fiction writers for ages. There are so many articles on Wormholes but for a simple explaination read here.
Waves and the Speed of Light:
Much of what has been debated concerns the issue of 'matter' traveling beyond the speed of light. In my article about visiting Parallel Universes in our Dreams I theorized the Human Mind traveling Through Time, Space and Parallel Dimensions.
So is it possible for other elements to travel faster than the speed of light? Is it possible for Radio Waves for instance to Travel faster than the Speed of Light? The Cells of our Brain use Brain Waves to communicate with each other. Brain Waves are Electrically produced waves as are Radio Waves.
About those Parallel Universes:
There has been a shift quite recently by some of the Worlds top Physicists believing that Parallel Universes are a reality. Read Here.
I think we are at the beginning of the next 'big step' for mankind but we have a lot of ground to travel as a species before we can get up to speed.

Yes Joseph I agree, I think we have options after the end of this Physical body. I don't think your ideas are wishful fantasy, they are great ideas and an exploration of one of the greatest frontiers of Human Kind. They are as valid as any ideas.....Write a Hub and share on your thoughts!

I find your hypotheses very interesting - I think it's highly likely we live in a multi-dimensional universe and that our souls, after we die, carry on for a while through other dimensions and even possibly settle in a new being, hence the idea of re-incarnation...Could it be that if or when we are re-incarnated, we exist in a different universe from our previous life. Of course, when we dream, we have very little sense of time to our waking life where it is a stable continuum. This could bring us to another theory that the laws of time differ in the outer dimensions/universes and that we may be experiencing things that happened a long time ago in one place and into the future in another place. If all of time exists within the universe, it would make sense that our past and our future coexist with our present. Perhaps then, we as individuals always exist and maybe in our sleep/dreams we randomly go to another place in our timeline (eg go to sleep at 40 and awake at 31 or 54). We would not know any different as, when we awake, we would have the memories that we had when we were that age on that day (is this making sense?. There are some days when I wake up confused wondering why it's a tuesday when I woke thinking it was saturday etc. Some of my dreams appear to later come true. we have a beginning and an end in terms of age but perhaps we always exist at one point or another between those two times... just a thought..

A few days ago, i had a dream where i was in space, traveling at huge speed with my body as a spaceship then suddenly, i became aware of this so I tried to go even faster, till I couldn't. What happened next may sound cheesy but everything around me turned into a glowing white light and I felt a immense tingly feeling into my body, just like when you're a roller coaster, multiplied by infinity. Then suddenly, everything turned to black, like i was back to where i began so i decided to try again and again, white light + unbearable feeling through my body. It was so unbearable that I woke up. My mother was next to me and told me that I was crying and screaming while this happened.
Do you think this was real or just a dream?

I have some comments. I have experienced on many occasions dreams which seamed to be of the future where everything looked as real as real life. On one such occasion my dream happened (in real life) one second after the dream. The chances of such an event being a coincidence are very low. according to theory i have heard that an object or in this case a thought traveling past the speed of light will reverse in time and enter the past. If brain waves can travel past the speed of light then the thought or experiences or yourself or another person could enter the past where you are and enter your mind. If the mind can make sense of these brain waves then it is possible to see the future. Thanks for listening to my theory.

Eric, that blew my mind as well. That theory explains phenomena like deja vu.
I too have had dreams where later in life I find myself experiencing them in reality. The catch is that I become conscious of what happened in the dreams, and often find myself making a decision that I didn't make in the dream for a different outcome. Are the outcomes parallel universes?

I too have had similar dreams but all my attepts to change what happened ended up being the cause without me realizing at the time, even in dreaming of the future, doesnt mean you can change it I guess. Every dream I've ever had still has rules, likewise to this world, with the exception of flight, and death in dreams feels like I was just thrown back into my body.
So I'm thinking that our brain waves connect with the brain waves in the parallel universe by traveling the speed of light. Many of my dreams have simply been the same reality except somethings are 'tweaked' like say a game that was in this reality had a sequel and my bed location was in my computer room. Also as some people say, nothing makes sense. In some parallel universes there is no physical limitation. If we can somehow tweak the mind into thinking it is conscious inside of the dream. I've also been thinking our mind has some connection with the other 'person'. We are able to communicate by replacing each others sub conscious cells. Just a theory I just read this and thought of some ideas that would be possible. I haven't even took physics yet lol.

I have never heard a theory like that, but when i thought about it something clicked in my head and it kind of made sense. Everything in out galaxy revolves around the black hole in the middle of it. The only thing that keeps everything from getting sucked into it is their mas; therefore they stay in orbit via centripetal force. So could that say something without mass would not orbit, but get sucked right into the hole?
Researchers have not yet been able to physically understand the soul, and they may never if it has no mas.
This is pretty far out there as well, but with all the scientific data unfolding the universe around us... it seems anythings possible. The Mayans knew more about the universe than we do today. And the new scientific data is only proving them right, and they did also believe the soul never dies via reincarnation.

I have two different interpretations on that both related to dreaming the future. It could possibly be what the soul experiences after death, being sucked into the center of the galaxy (a black hole); which could possibly be what we call "heaven".
Another theory could be that it was a dream warning of the future. Since you were in a frightened state it prolly isn't good. It could have been a warning about some kind of high speed space travel and how dangerous it could be. We know that if you travel at the speed of light, you body will be in particles. Researchers are trying to find a way to cheat that and bend space around the shuttle. could be a warning bout that to...
I have a theory that our brains are far more complex than understood at this moment in time.
For instance, if we can simply conjure an image of any place on earth as we perceive it or, a persons face we can not have possibly met, and lastly, why do we think that there has to be another universe or species equalling our own planets wonderful acheivement when there is no tangible evidence of extra terrestrial life! Maybe we have it planted deep in our DNA by the race who created us; i.e. where did the ameno acids and proteins arrive from on this barren planet and where do the trace elements and compounds come from? it surely was an experiment by another race.

Since the last one year i was having thoughts that my dearest family member was going to face death of body.Maybe my present self's brain waves were trying to tell my past self to do something about it.Couldn't save that person though..feels weird that if that process of sending brain waves is still going on then in some parallel universe that person would still be alive.
Having never heard of these theories before, and having read a great deal of them all morning since last nights experience I wish to relate an experience I had just last night:
Last night was a very bad night of dreaming. I literally spent the night tossing and turning being sucked in and out of multiple dreams into wonderful and frightening places. In one instance I am hiding on a spaceship (I think) when it is docked by what I assume are pirates who scrounge around for salvageable bits. At one point, one of their crew notice me and I hush them. The crew is a dirty child, maybe 8 or 9. I get the feeling the child doesn't agree with what the others will do to me if they find me. I wake up and fall asleep again. I am on a lush planet, very 'Alice in Wonderland'ish. I see my best friend there, he is kissing a girl I do not know. A girl I do not know starts kissing me. I get the impression that this is what this location is for. I wake up...and fall asleep again. I am in a complex of sorts. I am in a tube on a world. I get a feeling of dread and pending doom. I see a girl....and wake up and fall asleep again.
This is what my night consisted of. I related this story to a friend and I described it as a night of sleepless dreams. Of dreams so vivid and somehow 'right' like they had happened or would happen. I described it as falling asleep only to live alternate lives then to wake up and live the life that was intended for me.
Finding these theories completely blows my mind because I cannot quite shake the feeling that that is exactly what had happened. I am a sane and logical person, but something stuck with me from this experience that is nagging at my mind and telling me to not dismiss it so easily and to research it further.
This has changed the way I see the world it's brilliant
I have had dreams where i have met me but when i was a kid, i was on the playground and walked up to 'me' and she started talking to me, and dragged me off and ran away saying we weren't allowed to speak to each other its against the 'rules' i have had alot of dreams where i speak to someone who looks exackly like me but is different, maybe i'm just crazy :)
everything is my dreams are so real its scary, if i touch someone is my dreams i can feel them, if i get hit in my dreams i feel that aswell.
I have dreamt alot, and woke up and the exact thing has happend to the point where i know whats going to happen before it does. :/
A dream actually led me to this blog, so to speak. First there was the bad dream about a big water pipe breaking and its waters drowning my relatives on the morning of March 11, when the tsunami devastated Japan. And then I was surfing YouTube about scientists' explanation of earthquakes' etc which led me to Kaku, a theoretical physicist, who also supports string theory, m-theory and parallel universes.
And so I am thinking know that this theory really seems to explain many things, if not everything including (don't laugh now) ghosts, doppelganger, and other beings.
Does the conservation of energy apply to the soul? If it does then it cannot be destroyed, it just changes to something else or go somewhere else.

We tend to understand ourselves in perspective of scientific analysis,which understands everything within framework of four dimensions,yet known to science.But science does not obviate the possibility of existence of further more dimensions,which are yet to be found out.The things become more crucial when we are still not confident as to what the definitions constitutes the 4Th dimension.It is not yet definite as,Time constitutes the 4Th dimension or not.But this much is definite that any dimension beyond the third one,shall relegate you to universe of finer things that are less related to matter or any derivative of it.If Time be the next dimension after the third one,we find it to be constitutive of things that are very nearer to non material object.I understand we should be mentally prepared of a situation when the dimensions beyond the 4Th one,are tried to be explained taking into comprehension the non physical things and concerns.This is quite possible that in the fifth dimension we would find and feel the things that could never be proved by aid and assistance of science,as science can not explain things which have nothing to do with matter or energy.
Just take the example what Mr.Ed has narrated in his comment.He saw(rather to say witnessed)a glowing bright light which was non irritating to his retina,such a light form is possible in fifth dimension,which is not the consequence of any chemical reaction,or any electrical potentials.Those who have travelled deep into Meditation, have witnessed to meet such bright glowing enormous white milky light,which do not frustrate retina, all because of its immense luminosity.
The above article and comments are fascinating to me. I've just woken from my first experience of a dream which involved me flying very quickly - in and out of buildings and through people. In the dream I asked someone what year it was and he said 2016. I have remembered every infinite detail of the dream and it felt physically so real. Wow. This experience has led me to google dreams and travelling through time and yes, I do believe it is real.
Once I made public a dream, and guess what??I had the Justice Department looking for me..
I find these theories intrigueing and have great relations with. I had a dream 2 days ago where me and my wife had got on a ship with i dont know what or who...but flew up and out the atmosphere into space then

I have to agree with you, the only reason why I stumbled on your article was because I was searching for points of view on dreams being a trip to ones other realities on parallel realities.
Now I must say that I have done awesome traveling where at parts I am in total control and almost fully aware, I remember one time I flew out of my physical self and out the window and found my self in the very same city where I lived but in the far future all the buildings seemed like they had electrobiolumnicent finish an amazing building with living membrane that blend with organic and highly developed engineering not seen in our time but fantasized only by futurologist. So I agree I think we do have an amazing portal in our dreams to past or future or space that can be no other than parallel universes where we also exist. And I think that do our brains are like a hardware I believe that our minds are like the software made of waves of information and is not confined in the size of the brain I think our minds can coexist in multiple levels of quantic reality which by laws of uncertainty can place us in different spatial dimensions.
If we attend to the string theory and understand that the vibrations of the strings vary like musical notes, we can see why if when falling asleep helps to listen to certain type of music harmonics it creates a profound awareness of conscious that ultimately can take you into a more lucid dream. One thing that never sees to amaze me is the fact that in our dreams things that seem impossible in our awake reality are easily done like flying or trespassing walls or glass, or biolocation or being an observer of ones self but if we study the behavior of quantum mechanics we can see the correlation in the quantum world normal physical laws don't apply and multiple possibilities coexist like in our dreams.
Wow, I woke up in bed after some weird electrical shock to my body and i was in another dimension for 20 seconds.. I don't do drugs and i know that was not just a dream, i was fully conscious, not afraid and i wanted to look around. It was the same place but everything looked different in detail, different cars outside with unknown detailed designs, different plants, it was summer.. the sky was very blue, sun was bright and white, and grass was a very vivid green, as soon as i walked down the stairs to discover more i woke up immediately in this reality. There was also some weird futuristic devices in my room... I know this was real so i had to share. I truly believe that if you look beyond what you're taught, you will discover we humans have many capabilities we're not fully aware of. I think people's consciousness will change dramatically in 2012.
I do believe that we are able to travel through space and time in our dreams. But my question is if this is possible then why haven't we made contact if the form of others coming to our planet and them teaching us about things that are possible if we just give it a chance. Why must we mistrust each other? Why does it seem as thou we are only getting part of the story. And if we are to young to understand then teach us so that we may make our lives more forfilling. But these are just thoughts to dream about. In life time I have seen things that have made me a better person in some cases and a worst person in some cases I have to deal with this but I do wish that in my life time that I am able to see mankind make contact with a another life form that could bring a new and better way of life for the human race.

I had a fascinating dream, it cleary wasn't like the average one i've had before.
I board on a sort of capsule, it launchs, accelerates and i can see in front of me the space becoming slowly black, i turn back and the rear is white, the sensation of speed is incredible, after a time the capsule stop in a small terminal and i'm in what resemble a really huge transparent sphere, i can't see outside; in the center there is a huge huge tree and from its leaves come out a lot of small bubbles. Inside each bubbles, there was a scene a bit like a movie in 3D. Everything was very colored, i feel like in some sort of heaven. I fly around for a while then someon; i go inside the capsule and then i wake up... That was one of my most tripy and best dream ever. Later i've found that the scenary from the capsule in my dream was the same that the one used in a warp simulation from a spaceship point of view and it doesn't look like in hollywood SFX movies at all.
I've made research and the thing i found closer to would be the altered state of consciousness, nirvana stuff etc...well i really feel like i've been in another world at least for few minute.
I've had a dream where i was not human anymore. I had translucent skin that didnt have any type of texture. It obsorbed every color around me as i was traveling beyond the speed of light to different planets, and galaxies. I was going so fast that my body was like melting chrome and i felt energy surge through me and different kinds whereever i had gone. Someone with a body like mine but male body with no male genataliavwas guiding me through the universe. As he was zooming with me through the universe everything it contained broke down like a puzzle being pulled apart. He told me everything had a center and that center also had a center, and nothings center ever ended. There was a point in my dream where i landed on a planet and i could touch lava and hold it in my hand. It would not burn me. He told me to follow him but i remembered something was left behind me. I woke up and thought to myself that i had never had such an abstract, cosmic, in touch with everything kind of dream. If i could go there again i would.

Strange to have so many similar things in our dream; maybe it's some kind of universal message. It could be fantastic if we could find more people who had this kind of dream.
I agree with tecris and the conservation of energy law in physic which states energy cannot be destroyed or created only changed from one type to another which in my understand applies to our life force (soul) so in my frank opinion we don't die we change or we at lest float about
I agree with the dreaming part although i also dream of future events that happen in this world...sounds crazy i no but its true, theres nothing i can do but watch the news and wait for the dreams to come true. So possibility of dreaming of a parrell universe? absolutely possible
Here's the "fun thing" I often ponder: Are the lives we lead while "awake" really dreams, and our "dreams" really Reality? And how can we PROVE without a doubt which is which? ;D
I came looking for answers, as I had this dream last night. And I'm pretty sure i've been to that place before. I rmb telling one of the characters in the dream that i've seen them somewhere before. Everything felt real. It felt like, i could dream myself back there if i wanted to. I wanted to hope that maybe it's true, that it wasn't just a dream per say. But an actual other universe in itself. Because, *and this part my seem very very ridiculous*, I think i've met someone there. Someone I felt a connection with. This may all seem very stupid and childish, which i suppose is. But is it real? i'm sorry.
In the mid 1980s I paid a visit to my ex wife and my daughter who lived in Massachusetts with my wife's lady friend. My daughter was in bed and the three of us were talking. All of sudden I fainted and fell face down on the table. I was awaken by a voice calling my name. Jim, Jim. I looked up to my left and saw who at that time a man in a white suit with radiant white hair. Squinting at the brightness I asked him Who are you? He or it was smiling and replied Don't you know? It then dawns on me that I'm talking to a super bright light. I then thought wait, don't leave me here. I never felt so close to anything in my life bar none. I then was awaken by my wife's friend who's a R N. She was saying there does't seem to be anything wrong with him. I told them what had happened and of course they thought I was nuts. The crazy thing is it only took them the speed to get to me from across the table. What ever that was knew me very well and for a split moment I saw the truth.
In a dream i had last year:
I board in a one place spaceship,
the ship accelerate and everything is turning white; after a while, as the spaceship accelerate, a black spot in the center of my field vision start to grow and cover the ship, at the same time, my body feel like melting as the speed is so fast. Everything is black now but the ship decelerate, a white strip just fly very fast over the ship and i see myself in a strange place i could never have imaginated.
A man with a blurry face and grey clothing came, he said me: welcome to the place where alls the souls in the universe meet; we don't have many visitors from your species who make it until this place these times.
I look around and see shapes of what looks like aliens walking around, there are some humans there too.
The man is then flying and tell me to follow him, there is a huge tree nearby where bubbles come out from the leaves, he tells me : this is the tree of memories, every memories of the universe comes here, they are stored then recycled by this tree.
The man then tell me to follow him : let's go outside.
We fly in the space and then we land on a volvanic planet near a huge star, everything is covered in magma. He tells me : this is a young planet like Earth, life will be born here too in few times, you can touch it if you want.
I take some lava in my hand and see it slipping between my fingers.
Let's go somewhere else he told me.
We flew from this red planet in the void of space, and near a huge gazeous planet he told me, i think it's time to go back for you, if you stay you will hurt your brain, maybe we will see you again but it don't happen often, byebye.
When he finish his sentence i wake up.

I have simaliar believes however not as deep and well reasoned as yours. I believe our soul passes thru a wormhole after death into a parrallel universe where we reunite with a part of us in another dimension,perhaps reuniting with friends and lovers in that dimension. This perhaps gives us second, third and so on opportunities to correct past mistakes or create new ones. Perhaps this is wishful fantasy but maybe not. A few things lead me to this belief. 1. The soul doesnt die with our body 2.The soul may be the one thing that can pass thru the event horizon(our local hole) 3.Our souls have a much more exprienced and therefore more intellegiant choice on letting that expirience go or move on to a completely new one. Perhaps at times its best to leave things alone. I know theres many holes in this theory ,but my gut tells me some of its correct. I wish I had more control over my dreams and connections and more contacts with parrallel universes, maybe I could fill some of the voids and correct mistakes made in this dimension. Life could be a lot less painful.
